Words are essential elements for relationships. By words God spoke creation into existence and gave life to the creatures blessed to fill it. God redeemed sinful humanity to a restored relationship through the Living Word, His Son Jesus Christ. The life-giving power of the written Word of God continues to transform life.
Our words are also powerful. They have the ability to create, shape, encourage, change, and reveal. Hopefully you will find some if not all of these things alive in this forum as you share your words – your very lives together.
The 2008 Lent Devotional is the perfect platform from which to launch this blog. Men and women of our body have written 46 honest reflections of their lives against Gospel readings through the Lent season. A new devotional will be posted each day from Ash Wednesday through Easter. The blog forum invites you to share your comments, reactions, confessions, questions, and hopes as the Word of God continues its powerful work among our community.

At the office, we look at the clock at the end of the day and realize we’ll be late for dinner—again. At school, we lose ten points for a late paper, when the deadline seemed so far away at the time it was assigned. At home, it’s 10:00 p.m. and the home-schooling mom is still finishing lessons for tomorrow, while the public school mom drags in from yet another PTA meeting that went way too long. Time so easily gets away.
