Are You Lonesome Tonight
Read John 17:20-26
Reflect
I struggle with loneliness. Lately it seems less frequent, but much more intense when it comes.
It doesn’t make sense. I have many friends, and several close friendships that have moved to deeper places in recent years through transparency and conflict and love. I’m closer to these friends than ever before. My husband is crazy about me (most of the time), and my daughter’s Mother’s Day poem uses words like “gorgeous…caring” and “gentle” to describe me (yes, I admit, we haven’t yet hit the teenage years). Relationships, humanly speaking, are going well and growing stronger.
