Need to Get Away
Read Mark 6:45-56
Reflect
Those Southwest Airlines ads crack me up. There’s the one about the woman with the bad contact lens, who blindly stumbles into the men’s room to fix it. When the announcer asks: “Need to get away?” I yell, “Yes! Please!”
Today I want to highlight two short verses, one from today’s reading and one from yesterday’s, that are capable of producing peace and possibility in the middle of a stressful world.
“Come away by yourselves to a lonely place and rest awhile” (6:31). And, “He departed to the mountain to pray” (46).
